About this session
The course is interactive and will cover the ITAR, EAR and OFAC as they apply to research and academic institutions. Topics range from basic definitions in the ITAR and EAR to the fundamentals of exemptions and exceptions, as well as comprehensive sanctions and embargoes. Participants will learn the process of identifying regulatory jurisdiction and commodity classification utilizing case study examples to elaborate export control concepts and principles. Participants will engage with the presenters in group and independent activities meant to enhance basic understanding and application of t he concepts discussed. This is an introductory course meant to immerse individuals at research and academic institutions new to their role in export control compliance (Maximum 3 years experience).
