Dr. David English currently serves as the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs & Chief Academic Officer of the University of North Carolina System. He is a seasoned university executive with a wide variety of expertise in higher education policy development, strategic planning, and academic program management. Prior to joining the UNC System Office, he served as Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. He also holds academic appointments as a Professor in the Division of Liberal Arts at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and as a Teaching Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development at North Carolina State University.
