Biography

Christiana Shoopman is the Export Controls Specialist at East Carolina University. She is certified as an Export Compliance Professional (ECoP®) in both EAR and ITAR, is a member of the Association of University Export Control Officers (AUECO), and serves on the Institutional Biosafety Committee at ECU. Christiana began her career as a sworn Special Agent and Forensic Scientist with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation Crime Laboratory and has twelve years of experience as a DNA analyst working at the NCSBI, as well as in Washington, D.C.’s Department of Forensic Sciences and the Center for Advanced Forensic DNA Analysis. She has personally instructed over 350 law enforcement agencies as a North Carolina Criminal Justice Instructor and holds a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Peace College and a Master of Science in biology from East Carolina University.
